Violin Fingering A String Tips
Tip #1 - The number assigned to each finger is not the same as with other musical instruments (yes, that includes the piano as well). Memorize each finger on your left hand with it's specific numbered finger on the violin.
Tip #2 - Remember most sharp and flat notes will be played with the same finger as the original note, only a half-step higher for sharps, and a half-step lower for flats.
Tip #3 - While learning each note, make sure your finger maintains 'good posture'. This means that it does not collapse or hyper-extend. It should be rounded and relaxed.
