Tips on Violin Positioning

Remember when holding the violin to:

  • Keep the left elbow from resting on the side of your body.
  • Keep the left wrist from collapsing and touching the fingerboard.
  • Keep the left wrist from bending outward.
  • Keep the left wrist in a natural postion.
  • The chin rest should be positioned along the left jawbone.
  • The shoulder rest should be positioned along the left collarbone.
